Pakistan cricket coach Bob Wolmer murdered
A murder inquiry is under way after it was confirmed that Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer was strangled. A post-mortem examination showed his death was caused by asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation, Jamaican police said.
The death sparked speculation that it was linked to corruption in the sport. Woolmer, 58, was found unconscious by staff at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston at around 10.45am on Sunday, the day after Pakistan's shock World Cup defeat to cricketing minnows Ireland.
