Goliath painted a binge drinker
A re-write of traditional Bible stories featuring Goliath as a celebrity binge drinker and Adam revelling in Eve's naked body is to be launched by a Christian charity.
The Must Know Stories written by the Rev Robert Harrison, of St John's Church, Hillingdon, in north west London, feature the top 10 Bible stories nominated in a Scripture Union survey.
Those questioned were asked to choose the Bible stories that they believed must be passed on to the next generation. In the book, the story of David and Goliath is retold from the point of view of the giant - and he is portrayed as a "celebrity" binge drinker who is hung over on the day of his fateful encounter with David.
